RATKO ADAMOVIC, novelist and short story writer, was born in 1942.
His collections of short stories are The Yellow Submarine (1972) and
Everybody Dies (1977). His novels are The Nude Guard (1982),
The Rope (1977), The Workshop for Madness (1986), The Sacred Oak
(1990 and 1992), The Caravansary (1993), The Pagan Protocol (1995),
The Immortal Kaleb (1997 and 1998), Kantarion (1998)
and Clay Readers (2000). The garden of spirits ?essays (2002), some
of which were translated into English and French. School of night ?novel
(2003) Glass-forgers ?novel (2005), folio 1 of his selected works.

The theme of isolation of the individual from the outside world serves
as the foundation for Adamovi?s methaphorical prose, in which the
absence of a sense of time prevails.

Ratko Adamovic works and lives in Belgrade. His works have been
translated into many foreign languages and his stories included in
world anthologies of short stories.

It seems that the Archipelago of Eternity, in its true sense, was first foreshadowed - however, there is hearsay that it was actually discovered - by a Frenchman. If it is not only a rumor, his name was Georges Bataille. Some eccentrics claim that in some scripts written by the mysterious Frenchman they read about the consequences of when the Archipelago and the life on earth - if the life on earth were worth mentioning at all ?briefly unite somewhere at their hardly noticeable border line. Whichever way, its existence had been long before suspected, though maybe not with that particular name. Nevertheless, it is authentic that the Frenchman was the first one to write about the momentous instant of a “small death?that occurs when the Archipelago of Eternity and the life here, on earth, unite. If the life here ?All right, that doubt has already been expressed.


SELECTED WORKS: The publishing of Adamovic’s SELECTED WORKS was announced at the Opening of the 51st Belgrade International Book Fair. The announcement attracted enormous attention by the public and media. This edition consists of the following novels:
